We have had lots of requests to add a MSN, Yahoo and Gmail Importer to phpFoX.

Unfortunately we cant add this feature to the phpFoX Script for several reasons.

One and the main reason is for certain laws we cant break when adding a script that will access another network such as MSN and take data from their network and store it in a phpFoX Supported Database.

Another is scripts like this are very heavy to maintain and would require the price of the phpFoX Portal to go up, as a script like this would have to be updated and re-constructed to fit the MSN and Yahoo protocal to pick up certain date needed to Import their address books.

Now this does not mean you cant have a script like this on your site, you must certainly can. We researched and the best script we found to date that is easy to handle and comes with updates is: http://www.improsys.com/importer.htm

Hi rabah, oh sry I cant cause ive never used their script before its the only script I could find that does such a thing with a good price :)

Have you tried to integrate this script to your script yet?

If we can get someone to get it and I can get one of staff to help to integrate it so we can then add a tut for other users to add it in the future.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question... but what is this used for exactly? I understand it imports contacts - but for what reason? :?

I think this script will let you know your friends/people in your e-mail contactbook had signed up for the site. I don't know if this is the script does this way or not.
