Ok, I might sound like the poster child for a natural blonde here....but, when I went to the admin area and deleted the test forum...I deleted the test, logged out of admin and signed on as another member to start a new forum. When I clicked on the forum area it's showed as blank, but there was no way to add a new one. I couldn't post a topic because the option wasn't there to do so. I hope this made sense. lol

Yes it did make sense. :D
The structure of a forum can only be created by a admin.
So by default when you get the site there is a test forum. If deleted there are no other forums. So users wont be able to start a topic. You will have to create a forum as a admin, then once a forum is created - users will then have a forum to post there topics in.
Hope my explanation made sense, and hope i got what you meant. :D
