Flashchat question

Hello i had a question about the flashchat from tufat using with phpfox. I've read the instructions to add it to mysite but i wanted to know if its possible to do this but with out having the flash chat actually on the same server.

My goal here is to purchase the flashcat and video mod from tufat and run off a dif server that supporst Macromedia Media server for the video chat function but access my members information for when they log on just like if it was on the same server in the instructions.

Yeah i would belive this is possible, Since the FlashChat connects via a html iframe on the server the script is on it should also allow it to connect to another server where the actuall script is located.

I think there might be a config option in the FlashChat script to disallow users from piggy-backing of your server if you dont want other servers to connect to it, so if that is disabled then it should be possible.

You could test it out before buying it, but would have to find someone who has the flashchat setup. I think hotfoxonline.com still have their flashchat up and you could try to connect to their script via a iframe off some other server.

Also if you want to your member to have a auto login just use something like this to connect to the flashchat script:
Content visible to registered users only.

The code above is the same code like if the chat script was on your server but just changed $VAR[0] to http://www.someserver.com/. Also $VAR[4] is your members username if their logged in so this will autologin your member even if the chat script is on another server.
